ATLANTA – A quick stop at the convenience store has earned one man a peachy prize. John Brannon of Lawrenceville won $750,000 playing the Georgia Lottery’s Silver Peach game.
Brannon, 36, decided to stop and buy tickets after leaving work for the day.
He purchased two Silver Peach tickets and scored his lucky prize after scratching the second.
“I’m still in shock,” Brannon said. “I don’t think the feeling has really hit me yet.”
Exxon Food Mart, located at 2094 Lawrenceville-Suwanee Road in Suwanee, sold the winning ticket.
Brannon will use a portion of his prize to purchase a new home.
Georgia Lottery officials presented him with a ceremonial check at the store Tuesday.
