ATLANTA – Mega Millions has come bearing gifts. Friday’s Mega Millions jackpot is an estimated $262 million to a single annuity winner.
The Mega Millions jackpot has grown since Oct. 26 and has rolled 14 times.
Mega Millions offers two jackpot payment options: the $262 million annuity prize paid out as one immediate payment followed by 29 annual graduated payments; or the cash option, which is approximately $155 million.
Georgia Lottery players have been on a winning streak playing Mega Millions.
Three winning tickets were sold in the Dec. 7 Mega Millions drawing. One ticket worth $1 million was sold in Millen, and two winning tickets worth $10,000 each were sold in Dallas and Thomasville.
Winning numbers from the Dec. 7 Mega Millions drawing were: 4-10-20-33-57 and the Mega Ball 13.
The $1 million ticket was sold at Thompson’s Corner, located at 739 Highway 25 in Millen, and matched the first five winning numbers.
The two $50,000 tickets were purchased at Sunoco #2201648, located at 2785 Bobo Road in Dallas, and Jerry’s Place, located at 1102 E. Jackson St. in Thomasville.
The $1 million ticket was claimed Thursday. Winners have not come forward to claim the $10,000 tickets yet.
Mega Millions winners have 180 days from the draw date to claim prizes.
It only takes $2 to play Mega Millions for a chance to win big. Mega Millions players can multiply prizes with the Megaplier option for an additional $1 per play. Mega Millions also offers an optional $3 wager Just the Jackpot that allows players to receive two entries for a chance to win the game’s jackpot prize only.
Mega Millions tickets can be purchased at Georgia Lottery retailers statewide. Georgia residents also can purchase Mega Millions tickets via the Georgia Lottery app or online at www.galottery.com.
As with all other Georgia Lottery games, proceeds from Mega Millions will benefit education in the state of Georgia.
Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $20 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.8 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.6 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
