Georgia Lottery Player in Decatur Wins $50,000 Playing Mega Millions
ATLANTA (April 28, 2025) – A Georgia Lottery player in Decatur won $50,000 in the April 25 drawing of Mega Millions. The lucky ticket was purchased at Memorial Food Mart, 4144 Memorial Drive, Decatur.
The winning ticket matched four of the five white balls plus the Mega Ball. It had a built-in multiplier of 5X, taking the prize from $10,000 to $50,000. In the April 25 drawing, Georgia Lottery players took home $171,965 more in prizes than they would have under the old prize matrix. Now with a built-in multiplier that improves all winning non-jackpot prizes by 2X, 3X, 4X, 5X or 10X, 8,759 winners in Georgia took home $211,305 in total prizes for the April 25 drawing vs. the $39,340 they would have taken home under the old game matrix with the base prize payout.
The winning numbers for the April 25 drawing were 38-40-60-62-70 with a Mega Ball of 09. The next Mega Millions drawing is set for Tuesday, April 29, with an estimated jackpot of $70 million.
Winners in Georgia have 180 days from the draw date to claim prizes. As with all Georgia Lottery games, proceeds from Mega Millions benefit education in the state of Georgia.
