Record-Breaking $2.49 Million Fantasy 5 Jackpot Won in Cartersville
ATLANTA (May 12, 2025) – After 13 consecutive draws, a Georgia Lottery player in Cartersville won the jackpot for $2,488,184 in the May 9 Fantasy 5 drawing, marking the largest jackpot win for the game since it launched in November 1994. The ticket was purchased at Food City, 1912 Joe Frank Harris Parkway SE, Cartersville, and matched all five of the winning numbers, which were 06-12-22-26-27.
This ticket breaks the previous record-holding jackpot from the September 17, 2020, drawing, where a player in Claxton won $2,394,862.
Additionally, a player won $99,549 playing 50X The Money Quick Win on May 9. The winner purchased the ticket at QuikTrip, 8140 Tara Blvd, Jonesboro. Quick Win games are instant play, instant win games that share a rolling progressive jackpot and are available at Georgia Lottery retailers and online.
To cap off the winning weekend, a player in Atlanta won $30,000 in the May 9 Mega Millions drawing. The ticket was purchased at the Roswell Food Mart, 5645 Roswell Road NE, Atlanta. It matched four of the five white balls plus the Mega Ball, and had a built-in multiplier of 3X, taking the prize from $10,000 to $30,000.
Winners in Georgia have 180 days from the draw date to claim prizes. As with all Georgia Lottery games, proceeds from Fantasy 5, Quick Win, and Mega Millions benefit education in the state of Georgia.
